I'm Brendan Clancy — I spent 15 years painting live at small music festivals, canvases going up next to the stage while the bands played. I come from a family of musicians, so the music was never background noise — it was the whole point.
My work is abstract and color-first — luminous, textured paintings chasing the emotional charge of color, painted fast and in the moment, the way a set feels when it's peaking. Some of those festival canvases sold as fast as I could paint them.
